Second-hand report from Louisiana

This from my mom, reporting on my brother in Baton Rouge, well away from storm surges, but not from high winds and rain and such:

"D. [my brother] just called. He and his family and, I presume, K.'s [his wife - and even a year later it's funny to write that, sorry, y'all!] family are all well. The pecan tree didn't fall on the house. Nothing is flooded. Electricity is out in the whole parish and who knows when that will be restored. The neighbor's oak split in half and half is lying across their driveway, having taking electric, etc wires with it. We talked quickly as the cell is the only phone they have and there is no way to recharge it right now. Good to know all is well, even though a bit difficult."
