another resolution

I am going to hire someone to keep my house clean. This place is filthy. It's not just the piles of stuff, it's that I hate cleaning so desperately that I will do just about anything to get out of it.

Oh man, I'm jealous. Good for you. I, too, would rather pull my toenails out than clean house. I've gotten better about it but I still resent it deeply. When I was working 3 jobs with 2 kids, I did have a cleaner come to the house. I miss those days. Spending the day knowing someone was cleaning my house was fantastic. I would stand at the front door and unlock it with glee, knowing that it would smell (and look) cleaner. It also helped me to be tidier around the house. I miss those days! Enjoy!!!

Well, it's not done yet. It's expensive, so might end up being a one-time shot, just to get me back to zero.

I'm just really sick of it.

Phyllis,
go ahead and hire someone! If just for one really thorough cleaning-shot, it's worth it. It's much easier to keep on track afterwards, well, it *is* easier. The wonderful girl that comes occasionally to help out here did wonders on the first visit and I'm faaar less resentful towards cleaning since then, even if I've got to do it myself again like those past weeks (neither she nor her pregnant sister had the chicken pox, and I didn't want her to catch it and even endanger her lil sis and the unborn). But dh took care of the kids and I put in my iPod-earplugs and I'm still rather satisfied.
Getting help to get started is worth the bucks!

Lots of love from someone who much prefers ironing to cleaning (our marital arrangement pre-kids),
